Travel the world, one ingredient at a time!

The ingredients and rare essential oils we blend in all of our products come far and wide from across the globe. Here’s our favourite Summer travel destinations with inspiration taken from our beautiful ingredients.

Say hello to “immortelle” a.k.a Helichrysum oil. Our first godsent ingredient takes us to the South of France and our favourite place: PROVENCE

Provence ticks all the right boxes with a diversity of expectations like no other European region. There’s the sensual promise in the form of olive trees and lavender, the warmth, the fresh air and the drinking of sparkling rosé as the sun goes down. Then there’s the energy the place effortlessly exudes. Forever sending you up mountains, rowing along rivers, jumping off rocks, cycling around the city, with barely any time for checking in on your social media!

Provence is the continent’s most cultivated playground and has been since the Romans built theatres about the place and great artists traveled there in the thousands, not forgetting it’s home to the beautiful Helichrysum oil. Its bright golden flowers gave it its name (Helios = sun and chrysos = gold). It has been traditionally used to treat psoriasis or burns due to its excellent anti-inflammatory and skin healing properties. With its soothing and skin regenerating effects, Helichrysum is recommended where there is inflamed tissue which needs to be calmed down and regenerated. Enjoy the wonderful properties of this precious oil in our skin repair gel, Magic Skin.

Next stop Morocco to pick up some Prickly Pear Seed Oil.

This Atlantic coast country gives travelers the opportunity to experience life in an ancient Arabic culture, getting sunkissed on beaches or snow skiing in the mountains. Whether rambling through ancient medinas, sampling cuisine at a local restaurant or relaxing in the sun at a whitewashed seaside town, the past is always present in this diverse and colorful country.

Also called Barbary Fig, this plant is a native to Mexico, but it can also be found in other arid and semi-arid regions of the world, such as Morocco. Very rich in amino-acids, antioxidants and vitamin K, this oil from the desert moisturizes and softens the skin helping it maintain its elasticity. It also fights external radicals that are responsible for ageing which makes it ideal for dry, mature skin. Enjoy this precious oil in our anti-ageing skincare, Soin millenaire.

Last but not least, we long-haul our way to Japan

With its mix of cosmopolitan cities; dainty towns and breathtaking natural scenery, Japan is made up of endless secret spots that completely enchant you. Something for everyone and every interest, you have historic castles and eye-catching floral displays to quirky landscapes and architecture.

Originally from Japan, the Maitake mushroom means “dancing mushroom”. Legend has it, people used to dance with joy when they discovered it. Indeed, Maitake is used in research against cancer and has a global anti-aging effect: plump the skin by stimulating the production of collagen, increase skin’s firmness and prevent the skin from oxidative stress. These wonderful properties combined with other precious ingredients make it one of the leading elements in Soin millenaire, our anti-aging cream.

With love,
