Biblical element, the myrrh is native of NE Africa and Southern Arabia. It is one of the oldest known aromatic substances, mentioned as far back as 4,000 years. It was an ingredient highly held in esteem by Egyptian priests who used it as an ingredient for religious ceremonies and fumigations and embalming.
