Our Sustainability Philosophy
From 1001 Remedies inception, sustainability was an integral component of all our decision making. We want you to feel good about what you use for your daily wellbeing rituals. That is why, from the farmers we partner with to the packaging we choose and conferences we join, we are continually trying to maximise our sustainability efforts. So you can rest assured that by using 1001 Remedies product range you are connecting with the natural world sustainably and ethically.
1001 Remedies are proud to use only sustainable and recyclable packaging throughout the brand. Plastic pollution is a worldwide hazard, it pollutes our land, our oceans, our forests and literary chokes wildlife and sea creatures. As an ethical company with sustainability at its core, when it comes to packaging our products, we use biodegradable and recyclable products, which are currently the greenest solutions available.
Where possible all are products are in glass, which is is Made in Italy. The glass is then coated in white to protect the formulas as many plant extracts are sensitive to light. Only one of our products contains plastic, which is made out of 100% post-consumer recycled materials. Our apothecary bottles have become iconic for their aesthetic appearance and luxurious feel without compromise. Additionally, all our packaging comes from the EU, allowing us to reduce our carbon emissions.
However, we do not rest on our laurels and are constantly aiming to stay ahead of the curve, as we did from the beginning. We also have sourced most of our packaging from Europe reducing further transport carbon emissions.

Unfortunately, it is not just packaging that can harm the environment but the sourcing and type of ingredients used in products. At 1001 Remedies we champion nature and her healing properties and work tirelessly to source only organic and sustainable ingredients.
Organic products must be free from pesticides, parabens, phthalates, synthetic colours and fragrances, and pesticides. They are also both kind to nature because they are cultivated ethically and they are kind to you because they contain only naturally occurring properties, such as vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. For this reason, we always advocate you look at the labels and search for organic produce whether it is food or wellbeing products. Our founder - Sofia has worked tirelessly to develop relationships with organic growers who follow sustainable farming practices, in order to support 1001 Remedies sustainability mission. Sustainable farming does not stop at not using pesticides, but it involves everything from the way farmers treat their staff, to the conservative use of water, to the technology and knowledge used to ensure biodiversity and safety to the ecosystems. We our proud that the ingredients in our products come from sustainable farms that only safely cultivates nature in a way that benefits both us and the land.
Our mission is to conduct business ethically and in a way that continually supports not only our customers wellbeing but also delivers environmental, economic and social benefits. We have partnered with organisations to help contribute to improving the lives of farmers and ensure that farming sustainably becomes more accessible to people. We also donate to the UCFA association, the largest women cooperative in Morocco for the production of Argan oil.
As an ethical company, we ensure that all our product is created to the highest standard and delivers as much of nature's power as possible to the customer without compromising our planet. For this reason, we do not mix our essential oils with any solvents, chemicals, preservatives and the like, thereby delivering maximum therapeutic effect. We are 100% cruelty free, never have and never will test on animals. All our products are suitable for vegetarians and all but one - Good Night Balm, which contains ethically sourced beeswax, is suitable for vegetarians.
